What do we believe?
Church, as we understand it, is a community of people who enjoy knowing Jesus as King of our lives. This means undergoing the life long process of allowing God to change us for the better and enjoying the peace and benefits this transformation brings.
We believe the Bible to be God's inspired word which He uses to inspire, teach and guide us in life at home, at work and when we meet together.
Find out more from our video interviews.
What do we do?
We meet as a church family on Sundays at 10.30am at The Campus, which is a community centre on the Locking Castle Estate. Usually, we worship God together, share Holy Communion, study the Bible and catch up with each other's news over a cup of tea or coffee. Occasionally, we visit other churches to worship with them or organise special events, such as a Carol Service or bring and share meal. Visitors are very welcome and every effort will be made to make you feel at home.

Woodspring Community Church in Weston Super Mare meets at The Campus, Locking Castle (BS24 7DX), every Sunday morning at 10.30am.
We have a talented band of musicians and regularly host visiting speakers. We're a family-friendly Church and new members and visitors are welcome to join us.
For the last year we have operated a rota arrangement where our midweek groups each take responsibility for an aspect of our morning meeting. So you will see a wide range of people contributing and participating in the meeting. Throughout this there is still room for spontaneous contribution as the Holy Spirit leads and prompts. Church members are finding this is now helping them in their development as Christians. We have to be more diligent in prayer, Bible study and in listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
Each Sunday Morning the Children have fun in lively meetings staffed by experienced Children's Workers who have all undergone Police CRB checks in line with the policy of the Evangelical Alliance, of which the church is a member.
Kidzone is our lively weekly meeting for children aged 6-11 years.
We enjoy an action packed hour from 11am-12noon, which includes games, puzzles, bible stories, craft activities and refreshments.
We have lots of fun
and everyone is
welcome!
Every 6 weeks Kidzone meet for this fun and vibrant Sunday morning meeting. Extreme starts at 11am-12noon and is for children aged 6-11 years. We do lots of singing, have stories, quizzes, videos and crazy games. You never know you may see a leader get custard pied!
All are welcome at Extreme.
Creche facilities are provided for pre-school children where they may be cared for by family members.
Listen to Becky talk about the work with youth and children on this video .
Young people in the church are encouraged to become fully integrated into all activities and they play a leading role in the musicians, children's ministry, creche etc. They attend midweek groups and also regional youth meetings, such as The Mix. They are enthusiastic about Mission work and are involved in local initiatives and overseas work. See our Facebook entry.
We believe that Biblical teaching, Godly relationships and group prayer are all key to a young persons development. Therefore the young people spend time building relationships at social events such as bowling, chippy chases and movie nights.
This summer the young people in the church went to Soul Survivor, a camp in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. We all had an amazing time and were were able to worship God with thousands of other young people from all over the country.
Between 12th-30th September the young people took part in Textify, a joint initiative run by Soul Survivor and Hope Revolution, an initiative of Hope. Textify encourages people to: 1) Choose some friends and pray for them daily, 2) Text them to start a conversation, 3) Talk with the friends about our faith, 4) Share any stories that come from this on the FaceBook page.
On 4th-6th November the young people will also be taking part in Blackout, part of Open Doors Youth . Open Doors is a Christian Charity dedicated to helping persecuted Christians all over the world who are suffering for their faith. The Blackout campaign is about making a big noise by keeping quiet! For 48 hours we will be quiet by not using our phones, Facebook, ITunes, TV, Gaming, Twitter etc...Some of us will even keep our mouth shut! By doing this we are hoping to raise some money for this great charity!

RESONATE - Youth events in the region.
Group Meetings
Church Members meet midweek in small groups. Days and times are flexible according to the availability of the people in each group and the activity they're engaged in. All groups have prayer as a central focus, but some groups also include Bible Study, others reaching into the community or sharing an interest such as craft work, dancing, sport, drama or musical production.
Starting on January 19 2012, The Campus will be the venue for new Help with English and Make Friends sessions organised by Woodspring Community Church in partnership with Locking and Locking Castle Childrens Centre.
The sessions, where there will also be a crèche provided, are aimed at supporting people with young children whose primary language is not English.
The course will run every Thursday from 12.45pm to 2.45pm during school term time and is completely free of charge.
"The sessions will not only help learners improve their English," said Paul Hillman, Community Services Manager at The Campus, "but they will also be a great place for people to meet other people in a similar situation and make new friends."
Please contact us for more details about the classes.
Saturday 21st January - Family Cabaret evening featuring Dave Light - festive fun and food.

Want to get on top of your finances? CAP Money is for you.
Members of Locking Castle Church and of Woodspring Community Church in Locking Castle wanted to unite together to help their local community to best handle the economic climate, so underwent specialised training from UK charity Christians Against Poverty.
Now we are offering the short course aimed at putting the joy back into money by teaching people how to chart their household income and take control of their expenditure.
CAP Money coach Emily Cumberbatch said: “With households feeling the squeeze on their disposable income, we’ve all got to get a bit more savvy about our money to get through these tough times. If you know how to save and budget effectively, it can have a hugely positive impact on the whole family.”
Locking Castle Church and Woodspring Community Church are part of more than a thousand churches of different Christian traditions across the UK who are regularly offering the CAP Money course, as they work together to positively impact the communities around them.
CAP Money has been found to be useful for newly retired people, soon-to-be students, mums dealing with mounting bills, families saving for a wedding and everyone in between. We hope that we can help people, quietly and confidentially, take control rather than relying on guess work so they can plan for the future and weather the storm.”
The first course takes place in Meeting room 1, Locking Castle Church, Bransby Way, Locking Castle, starting at 10am on Saturday January 21st 2012.
The course is free but booking is essential.

12-1-11 testimony of the outpouring of God's Holy Spirit.
"Bro, I m thrilled to report to you that last Sunday we had a divine visitation. I was preaching on FILL MY MOUTH WITH LAUGHTER,O LORD. The scriptures readings were Genesis 21 vs 6-7, Job 8 vs 21, Psalms 126 vs 2 and Luke 1 vs 58. After ministering, we stood quiet before God. All of a sudden one sister bursted into a deep laughter, then the second, third, fourth eventually the all church was filled laughter. Some we struck down by the anointing of God. I too could not stand up but just knocked down. Something broke loose in the spiritual realms. I could see the radiating glory of God on people's faces. There is going to be an abiding presence on people's lives. Bless you. I just felt to share with you this experience. Peter"
